February marks the twenty-first birthday for Shoalhaven Regional Gallery. The gallery was officially opened over twenty years ago by Mayor Greg Watson on 28th February 2004. To mark this occasion the gallery organised a birthday cake at the most recent exhibition opening. The cake was cut by Mayor Patricia White, long time gallery supporter Allan Baptist and Director Zanny Begg.

The cake cutting was celebrated alongside three exhibition openings, New Horizons, works from HSC art, Finding Hope in Afghanistan, photographic exhibition by Muzafar Ali and Single Channel a touring exhibition of video art from the National Gallery. The opening was addressed by the Ambassador for Afghanistan, Wahidullah Waissi, Mayor Patricia White and Yuin Elder Paul MacLeod.

Shoalhaven Regional Gallery Director Zanny Begg explained that the cake was a small moment of celebration, an exhibition marking twenty-one years of the gallery will open at the end of the year.
