In Gallery Learning

Welcome to our new learning programs! This program offers a range of options to suit Early Childhood through to Secondary students. All education programs delivered to young people are designed to focus on learning intentions linked to curriculum outcomes.

You can leave it all up to us to delivery excellent and engaging learning experiences or our Gallery Educators can tailor a program to meet your learning needs or specific syllabus goals.

Early Childhood

Early Childhood programs are designed to explore artworks in a fun and engaging way. Visits can include learning looks through current exhibitions, stories, games and artmaking activities. Join in the fun with Shoalhaven's Art Detectives and discover the different things that help artists make art. 


Option 1: In Gallery learning $3pp (duration 20 min)
Option 2: Add hands-on related artmaking activity $8pp (total 40 min)

Primary

In Gallery Learning and Artmaking programs have strong links to Visual Arts Syllabus K to 6. 

Primary students will have opportunities to engage with artworks through group activities to discover techniques and materials artists use and reasons they make artworks, while developing understanding and use of art terms.

Artmaking activities will explore techniques and materials relating to current exhibitions.

Early Stage 1

Option 1: In Gallery learning $3pp (duration 20 min)
Option 2: Add hands-on related artmaking activity $8pp (total 40 min)

Stage 1, 2 & 3

Option 1: In Gallery Learning $5pp (duration 60 min)
Option 2: In Gallery Learning plus practical art making activity $15pp (total 2.5 hours min)

Secondary

In Gallery Learning and artmaking programs have strong links to Visual Arts Syllabus:

Secondary students will have opportunities to engage with artworks through small group activities to deepen understandings of The Frames, Conceptual Framework and Practice using visual thinking strategies. 

Artmaking activities will explore techniques and concepts relating to exhibitions on show.


Stage 4, 5 & 6

Option 1: In Gallery Learning $5pp (duration 60 min)
Option 2: In Gallery Learning plus practical art making activity $15pp (total 2.5 hours min)

Terms & Conditions of Entry to These Facilities

The health and safety of our visitors and staff is important to us.

You ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ENTER these facilities if you are experiencing or exhibiting symptoms of cold, flu, COVID-19, respiratory illness or other infectious illness or disease.

Such symptoms may include:

  • Fever
  • Chills or sweats
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Runny nose
  • Loss of sense of smell
  • Skin rash, lesions, or sores.

If you are experiencing or exhibit any of these symptoms whilst at these facilities, you may be asked to leave.

By attending these Council facilities, you have accepted the above terms and conditions.
