Artist Margaret Dredge, an accomplished abstractionist, embarked on her career in the late 1950s. During the 60s she held solo exhibitions at prominent Melbourne galleries and in Contemporary Art Society annual exhibitions, with her work enjoying universally positive reviews. Upon her death in 2001 she left a legacy of more than 80 major paintings as well as etchings and works on paper.
This exhibition focuses on works on paper; etchings produced in the early 1980's and acrylic paintings from the mid 1990's. The works have lain in storage in the artist's studio since being produced and except for 3 etchings are exhibited here for the first time.
